one of a kind, but wish it had an always on setting, March 18, 2008 By Let me start off by saying that there is no alternative for this watch in production today. If you want style and a great land navigation tool built into one, this is definatly your only choice.
The good points about it, is it works very well, it has a setting to offset the compass for varying inclinations (offset for magnetic north), solid look and feel, basically everything I could think of wanting from an electronic compass.
The two cons are pretty substantial though.
One it doesn't look like a 500 dollar watch, it's eye catching, people have never seen anything like it before, more then likely, but you will have to explain to them what it does before they realize why it is so special. Which in turn gets many oooo's
the second is from the practical side of the watch, if you are using it to follow a path, and are the type that likes to constantly look at his compass, there is no option to leave the compass on, rather you'll have it cut out... Read more

not satisfied, June 15, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Active ST 5000 Digital Compass Men's Quartz Watch 24837 (Watch) I received my st5000 swiss army watch from Windy watches and found that one of thr four screws on the back of the watch was missing. Also the instructions on how to set the watch were not sent with the watch, A different set of instructions was sent but these did not include my watch. I was very dissappointed and emailed them . They assured me that they would send me some screws and also the correct instructions for my watch. Ihave been waiting over four weeks and still nothing I expect that this was not a new watch. I would like to purchase other items but would not do so until this matter is resolved.
I think Amazon should look for a new supplier. I would not purchase another item from this company. I await your reply.

Better of with a Tissot, December 14, 2008 This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Active ST 5000 Digital Compass Men's Quartz Watch 24837 (Watch) For the price you have to pay for this watch, you might as well move up to the T-Touch by Tissot. Same features as this watch plus a lot more. Not to mention that the Tissot is a classier watch!
